• Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum
  • Hello, there.

Marcella spent her formative years in the art department of a publishing company. After experimenting with her own style of visual expression, she became fascinated with the application of a realism style to fantasy subjects with intricate detail.

Her most recent works in pencil, ink, and cut paper explore themes of deception and dark revelation by manipulating a two-dimensional medium into three dimensions and drawing on the innocent familiarity of pop-up book architecture and discovery.

Marcella currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of NextFab, the premier network of makerspaces in the United States serving creative entrepreneurs. When not at work, she’s usually found tinkering with multimedia art projects, swimming, reading historical nonfiction or speculative fiction novels, editing Wikipedia articles, or spending time her dog, Rúna, and her cat, Ripley.

Marcella is passionate about communications, animal rescue, assistive technology, and moving boldly towards a future that includes coexistence with machines of loving grace to improve the quality of life and reduce the suffering of all.
